The Australian Cycling Academy pro racing team program continues to go from strength to strength with the exciting news that the ARA | Skip Capital team has secured a new partnership with Mitchelton Wines.
Mitchelton Wines and its celebrated owner Gerry Ryan are well known to the Australian cycling community as steadfast long term financial backers of the sport in Australia including Australia’s successful WorldTour Team, Jayco | Alula.
The multi-year partnership will prioritise strengthening the development of young Australian talent and solidifying pathways to the highest level of world cycling for the next generation of riders.
Building upon the long-term support of the ARA Group and more recently Skip Capital, the addition of the Mitchelton Wines partnership will enable the ARA | Skip Capital team to offer their young male and female riders a more extensive global racing program.
Stephen Bamford, General Manager of Mitchelton Wines, shared his enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “I’m thrilled to be part of ARA | Skip Capital’s mission to continue our passion of nurturing young Australian talent and enhance the future for Australian cyclists, both on and off the bike”.
ARA | Skip Capital CEO Matt Wilson said the partnership was a logical next step for the team.
‘We have always had a close relationship to Gerry Ryan as we are both committed to the development of Australian cyclists. This partnership is a natural progression and will enable better outcomes for our athletes through even an even stronger collaboration. The additional funding will allow us to put more resources into our riders and provide them with a broader range of competition exposure giving them the best possible pathway into the WorldTour.
‘It also reaffirms the incredible commitment of Gerry Ryan to the sport of cycling in Australia, a commitment spanning over 20 years, there’s not many elite cyclists that have come from Australia than haven’t benefited directly or indirectly from Gerry’s amazing support!’
